Caleb is one!
Our baby boy Caleb is turning one! Oh what a year, it was so much fun!
Not only is he his mom and dad’s pride and joy, he is his sister’s Bailey’s baby boy… (and sometimes her toy)
From the day he came home…She sang to him, “Caleb, Caleb, you’re my special baby”
He started out a little orange, maybe it is a sign he will be a Syracuse Grad (Let’s! Go! SU! Oh yes, he already knows to clap when he hears his sister cheer)
He is the most ticklish boy we have ever met, from the top of his hair, to the tip of his toe, if he even thinks you will touch him, he laughs with a roar. (at 3 weeks old, he would be sleeping and in his sleep he would laugh out loud, from deep in his belly like he just heard the funniest joke ever told) He laughs and laughs a lot.
If he wants to get from here to there, he scoots, he scoots everywhere. (Scooter, Putt Pooter is what the girls calls him) He scooted before he crawled, and still prefers the scoot over the crawl (you can check out the video on our web album)
He does not baby talk or give baby goo’s…he yells, very loud. Screaming matches is a game he and Bailey play and I do think he has beat her a few times.
Caleb is a very picky eater, for a very long time, he would only nurse…I finally was able to get him to eat Sweet Potatoes @ 9 months…almost 10…He will eat table food now, cut in itty bitty pieces, because not only is he a picky eater, he has a very sensitive gag reflux…After many heart attacks, and baby Heimlich maneuvers, he eats his food in half’s and then half again…and maybe one more time on a bad day!
Caleb has accomplished a lot this year, he says momma and dad, Bay, dog, look, and here recently…NO! He walks with assistance, either from the furniture, or parents, and Bailey is always there to spot him.
At 11 months old he has 6 teeth, with one more about to poke thru. He loves to take baths and when Bailey joins, it is even better.
He loves balls, and is in baby heaven when you play catch with him…our boy has quite an arm. Besides balls, his other favorite toy would be Riley (yes he is still allergic to her kisses).
He does like to take things out of boxes and put them back in. He loves it when we sing to him; he will instantly dance when he hears music.
And I do believe he will follow in his aunts’ footsteps and be a drummer boy.
He loves his sister, he is a momma’s boy thru and thru…he is his Daddy’s biggest cheer leader. We are blessed to have such a beautiful boy.
